The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions released their final injury reports with injury designations ahead of their Sunday afternoon matchup at Ford Field. Here they are.
Injury Report Terms and Glossary
Definitions of damage assignment:
Probable = the league defines a Probable injury designation as a 75% or greater chance of playing. Historically, 95% of players designated as probable are active and playing on game day.
Doubtful = the league defines a Doubtful injury designation as ‘uncertain’ whether or not the player will play. This replaces the previous definition of having a 50% chance to play. Historically, 70-75% of players with a Questionable injury designation are active and played on game day.
Doubtful = The league designates a Doubtful injury designation as meaning the player is unlikely to participate in the game. In practical terms, teams use the designation when a player has less than a 50% chance to suit up, and active game appearances from this designation remain rare. Historically, only about 6% of players with a Doubtful designation are active and playing on game day.
Out = won’t play. Players with this designation are inactive on game day and are prohibited by league rules from playing.
For the Lions, Kerby Joseph opened his three-week window to return from IR this week but will not return this week. Starting slot cornerback Roger McCreary was a late addition to the Lions’ injury report on Friday, when he was limited with a foot injury. He is questionable for Sunday’s game, which means he will likely play.
For the Vikings, it was close to a clean sheet with the late addition of Jay Ward to the injury report on Friday with a knee issue. He was limited Friday and listed as questionable, but again, that means he’ll likely play.
So, it looks like the entire roster will be available for both teams on Sunday, with the exception of those on IR.
