The Los Angeles Chargers will face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8 at SoFi Stadium before the bye.
The Chargers have lost their first six games and are the only winless team left in the league. However, the Chargers can turn things around with a win over the crosstown rival Rams. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Chargers are underdogs by 6.5 points. Let’s take a look at some predictions for the game.
Only one game the Chargers have played this season has had more than 45.5 points. That came against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4. The Chargers’ offense hasn’t been up to par, scoring 17 points or fewer in all but one game this year. The Rams should have help from the crowd, which will be unfortunate to face while the Chargers are in their home stadium, but it’s hard to imagine the Los Angeles “bowl” as a barnburner.
Fanduel gives the Chargers a touchdown to work with, and they’ll be coming off a bye week well rested. The Rams come into this game knowing they have to keep their foot on the gas after their blowout win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week, when they won 35-21. This win would put the Rams at 5-0 if they achieve it. I expect a focused Rams team against the Chargers, which will likely result in a multi-score victory for the Rams.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chargers came out of the gates with a point or two, but given how they’ve performed all season, it’s hard to imagine this being the week they break their bad luck.
