After thoroughly handling the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7, the Seattle Seahawks are set to host a second straight contender at Lumen Field on Monday Night Football in Week 8.
The Chicago Bears came to town equipped with newly acquired Jeffery Simmons, who immediately changes the capabilities of Chicago’s defensive line, while the Seahawks have at their disposal the services of six-time All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson.
The addition of Nelson comes at an opportune time, as starting left tackle Charles Cross will miss the game against Chicago as he continues to work his way back from an ankle injury suffered against Kansas City, while former starting right guard Anthony Bradford is questionable with a knee issue.
The absence of Cross and the addition of Nelson means Josh Jones is at left tackle, with Gray Zabel sliding to right guard. It will mark the first time those three will start at those positions for the Seahawks this season, as the ground game looks set to continue without Zach Charbonnet or Jadarian Price holding the gameday designation.
Of course, as the Seahawks’ John Boyle points out, even though Price has no designation heading into the game, the team will still need to move Price to the 53 man roster by 4 pm New York time on Monday in order for him to suit up and play against the Bears.
In addition to Cross missing Monday night’s matchup, both Rashid Shaheed and Velus Jones have been ruled out, and Uchenna Nwosu is listed as doubtful, meaning he is unlikely to suit up. Drew Lock, Patrick O’Connell and Brandon Pili were also designated as questionable with Bradford.
