Packers news: Ex-Green Bay DT Kenny Clark is having a night back at Lambeau Field

It’s like old times for Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark as he returns to Green Bay for the first time with the Cowboys.

Micah Parsons will not face his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, in Week 6 as the Green Bay Packers pass rusher continues to recover from injury. However, the other key piece of that blockbuster trade, Kenny Clark, returned to play his first game at Lambeau Field.

Trailing the Dallas Cowboys 20-7 in the third quarter, Clark helped himself to the highlight of his return as he recorded a sack on former teammate Jordan Love just outside the Packers’ own end zone.

As veteran NFL reporter Ed Werder told X, formerly Twitter, it was Clark’s first sack of the season. Prior to Week 6, Clark had recorded 12 total tackles in his first five games of the season.

Clark was the Packers’ first-round pick in 2016 and spent nine productive years in Green Bay. He recorded 35.0 sacks and 417 total tackles in over 140 games for the Packers before being included in the trade that sent Micah Parsons to Lambeau. He continued his consistent production in his first season in Dallas, where he had 36 total tackles and 3.0 sacks.

Despite the loss of Clark and the loss of Parsons for the start of the season, the Packers defense looks good so far. They have picked off Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott several times, as they continue their impressive run of interceptions. It will be interesting to see how dangerous that defense is once Parsons is back.

As for Clark and the Cowboys, they still have work to do to be competitive in the NFC.
