Jalen is sick His situational awareness was on display during the opening clock in Monday’s contest against the Chicago Bears.
The Philadelphia Eagles had a 1st-and-goal but missed a timeout with 19 seconds to play in the first half at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill. Hurts found DeVonta Smith on a short pass, but the Eagles wide receiver was dropped a yard from the end zone.
The Eagles rushed to set their line to spike the ball before time expired — or so everyone thought. Instead of giving the Bears defense a chance to prepare for a goal-line stop, Hurts dove for a QB sneak as time expired.
Great awareness by Jalen Hurts. An emotional and entertaining first half ends with the #Eagles within a field goal, getting the ball to start the third quarter. pic.twitter.com/zj3QaX3iXH

The element of surprise appeared to throw off the Bears just enough for Hurts to find a crease to break the plane.
Hurts had just returned from a brief stint in the medical tent to be checked for a possible concussion. If the Eagles’ coaches weren’t sure if Hurts had all his skills before cleaning him up, the high-IQ step to end the half proved he’s more than okay.
A touchdown got the Eagles their first points as they trailed 10-7 at halftime.
