The Philadelphia Eagles will be without quarterback Jalen Hurts for at least one game following the discovery of a blood clot in his calf.
In a statement, the Eagles revealed that a small blood clot was discovered in Hurts’ calf after he was ejected during an Oct. 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams.. Doctors have determined Hurts is safe to play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, but suggested a follow-up ultrasound in 72 hours.
Follow-up revealed movement in the clot, and the Eagles will hold Hurts in Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. “while we determine the appropriate course of treatment.”

Hurts showed no indication of an injury during Sunday’s game, and practiced fully throughout the week. The blood clot was only discovered on Saturday after the Eagles arrived in London.
There is no indication if Hurts will miss more than one game, as it will depend entirely on how his treatment goes. It’s safe to assume he’ll be sidelined until the issue is resolved, however long it may take.
Backup Tanner McKee will start for the Eagles as long as Hurts is out. The team had a more experienced backup, but he was only waived due to a roster crunch.
Hurts has thrown for 933 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions in five games so far this season.
