Eagles Injury Report: DeVonta Smith of the 6 players listed below did not practice

The Philadelphia Eagles released their first official injury report of the week on Wednesday ahead of their Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Note that this report is an estimate as the team conducted a walkthrough in lieu of a normal exercise.

The Eagles have listed six players under NOT PARTICIPATING: DeVonta Smith, Zack Baun, Dallas Goedert, Will Shipley, Hollywood Brown, and Fred Johnson.

Smith did not practice on Thursday of last week before going limited on Friday and going full on Saturday before playing against the Chicago Bears. Perhaps he will follow a similar path this week as the Eagles look to manage his hamstring injury. If Smith can’t play, well, that’s a big problem.

Baun is a new addition to the report with a concussion. He needs to be cleared before he can return to the field. If Baun can’t settle, look for Jeremiah Trotter Jr. to start in his place.

Goedert is always expected to not miss many games, so, the Eagles will likely be without their top tight end this weekend. Maybe we’ll meet Zach Ertz’s playing time increased in his second game back with the Birds.

Shipley is dealing with a foot injury that caused him to miss practice last Thursday before being limited on Friday and Saturday. He was able to play against the Bears. We will see if he can ramp up in practice in the next two days.

Brown and Johnson were unexpectedly added to the injury report after apparently getting banged up in practice last week. Until they return, one must assume that they may not be able to fix it.

The Eagles have listed three players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Moro Ojomo, Jordan Davis, and Jihaad Campbell.

All three players are new additions to the report.

Ojomo is listed with calf and elbow injuries.

Davis is dealing with a calf injury.

Campbell is dealing with a knee injury.

Being listed as limited is better than being listed under DNP. These guys can play against the Rams.

The Eagles listed five players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Jonathan Greenard, Jalen Carter, Darius Cooper, Tank Bigsby, and Byron Young.

It was great to see Greenard back to full strength, just like he was on Saturday before Monday’s game. The Eagles need him to handle a bigger workload … and soon.

Carter’s injury limits his ability to function normally and manage his usual activities.

Cooper is listed with a knee injury.

Bigsby missed several hours of practice last week with an abdominal injury.

Young is a new addition to the report with a foot injury.
