The Minnesota Vikings announced a big update on wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. before Sunday’s game against the Saints.
The Minnesota Vikings recently made headlines when they signed veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to their practice squad following his recent release from the New York Giants. The move comes amid an impressive 4-0 start by the Vikings, one that has included some struggles on the offensive side of the ball.
Now, Beckham Jr. got a big update on his status ahead of Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints on the road.
“The #Vikings are elevating WR Odell Beckham Jr from the practice squad ahead of the game against the #Saints,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on X, previously Twitter. “Some added depth and insurance with two top WRs questionable.”
In fact, both Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison are listed as questionable for the Vikings against the Saints on Sunday, with the team having struggled to put points on the board over the past few weeks. In fact, the Vikings haven’t scored a touchdown in two of their games so far this year, although they’ve still managed to win both of them.
Meanwhile, Beckham Jr. didn’t record a catch in his brief second stint with the Giants this year, only appearing in a limited number of snaps, but the fact that he continues to make rosters seems to prove that he still has some left in the tank, and Minnesota can count on him if Addison and Jefferson can’t go.
In any case, the Vikings and Saints are scheduled to kick off Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm ET from New Orleans.
