Vikings-Lions First Injury Report | Everyday Norseman

The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions released their first injury reports ahead of their Sunday afternoon matchup at Ford Field. Here they are.

Injury Report Terms and Glossary

Definitions of damage assignment:

Probable = the league defines a Probable injury designation as a 75% or greater chance of playing. Historically, 95% of players designated as probable are active and playing on game day.

Doubtful = the league defines a Doubtful injury designation as ‘uncertain’ whether or not the player will play. This replaces the previous definition of having a 50% chance to play. Historically, 70-75% of players with a Questionable injury designation are active and played on game day.

Doubtful = The league designates a Doubtful injury designation as meaning the player is unlikely to participate in the game. In practical terms, teams use the designation when a player has less than a 50% chance to suit up, and active game appearances from this designation remain rare. Historically, only about 6% of players with a Doubtful designation are active and playing on game day.

Out = won’t play. Players with this designation are inactive on game day and are prohibited by league rules from playing.

For the Lions, Kerby Joseph opened his 3-week window to return from the PUP list this week, but is unlikely to play Sunday. Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. did not rehearse. Brown on Wednesday with shoulder and ankle injuries, respectively, which will be something to watch for the rest of the week.

For the Vikings, Kevin O’Connell doesn’t seem too worried about Aaron Jones or Joe Huber. Jones is considered day-to-day while Huber sitting out Wednesday’s practice is more of a caution than a sign he won’t play Sunday. Brian O’Neill continues to play with a minor knee injury.

Bottom line, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Vikings don’t have any injury assignments on Friday.

Let’s see how this plays out in tomorrow’s and Friday’s injury updates.
