Well, if it was bulletin-board material that would help the Philadelphia Eagles win a football game to snap their five-game losing streak, the Washington Commanders just gave it to them.
Speaking after Wednesday’s practice, Commanders cornerback Amik Robertson guaranteed his team would beat the Eagles:
Maybe the confidence will serve him and his teammates well. It is possible that the Commanders will win.
But the Eagles must try to use whatever they can to muster more motivation after not exactly giving the most inspired effort Monday night.
Maybe they can fool Robertson for his guarantee. Especially before going up against 1) a team with a better record and 2) a team that beat you earlier this season. It has the potential to backfire.
But we will see if the Eagles can really eat his words.
