Chargers-Rams Game Preview: Matthew Stafford leads No. 1 offense despite a losing record

The Rams were hailed as a “superteam” entering the regular season after trading for 2025 Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. That idea was only strengthened following Aaron Donald’s coming out of retirement to join his former team with a great chance to win another Super Bowl.

Either way, however, the Rams are 3-4, including a loss to the Cardinals at home who, at the time, only have one win of their own.

It’s hard to imagine how they got here, given how good the offense is. Part of that was Stafford’s seven interceptions. The other part was a number of questionable coaching decisions by Sean McVay. Even so, everyone knows this team is better than their record shows when everyone is firing.

With that said, here’s how the teams match up on paper ahead of Sunday’s game.
