The Bengals are coming off a frustrating loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, which was riddled with penalties from start to finish.
The NFL has officially issued fines from this game, and quite a few…
Boye Mafe and Myles Murphy of the Bengals were fined $11,941 each for facemask violations, while Travon Walker of the Jaguars was fined $11,941 for taunting.
Jarrian Jones of the Jaguars was fined $8,201 for his facemask against Ja’Marr Chase.
However, the real story is that Ventrell Miller’s hit to Chase that caused the concussion was not fined by the league office, nor was he suspended.
As for Jones, he was fined less money for his facemask on Chase, which helped lead to him being knocked out of Miller’s game, than for both Mafe and Murphy’s infractions.
It was surprising to see that Miller was not fined for his dangerous hit on a defenseless player, but the NFL felt no fine was necessary.
Fortunately, Chase is currently trending toward playing against the Dolphins as long as he officially clears the concussion protocol.
