I watched the game yesterday where the Miami Dolphins fell to the KC Chiefs 10-10 and the NFL referees had it 14-0. The combined score was KC/NFL Refs 24 – Miami/out of favors 10. I can’t even talk about the Dolphins’ performance until I unpack the slanted officiating that ended.
Unless the “anointed team” is a complete no-show, the refs in every sport will put their nails on the scales of justice to benefit whichever team is anointed. I remember the Heat beating the Chicago Bulls during Jordan’s prime at the old Miami Arena. I attended. Steffi Graf, Jack Nickalus, Cal Ripken, Jr. and I think Ferdie Pacheco was also there to watch the GOAT. However, Rex Champman hit 7 or 8 3-pointers and the Heat beat the Bulls. If the game would have been closer, the refs would have taken the Bulls to the finish line as they usually do for MJ.
We saw it in full effect today. NFL officiating is the biggest disgrace in the history of the American experience. There is no attempt to improve it. It really makes you think that the NFL decides who wins each game before the season starts in some kind of Star Chamber (check out this Michael Douglas movie if you can). Once upon a time in England, powerful men would meet outside at night under the stars to decide the guilt or innocence of some individual and then they would pass judgment (hence the term Star Chamber). You’re making the powers that be think there’s money in the game. I could literally write a hundred pages on how many garbage calls have gone against the Dolphins over the last 40 years. I know other teams are going crazy too but our pendulum is stuck in a bad way. Many of these calls are unexplained. And if you complain, the NFL punishes you. I still don’t understand how the NFL gets away with this, KNOWING they have an anti-trust exemption from the US government. In what other American endeavor outside of sports has a member of that organization NOT publicly criticized a corporation? If I worked at Acme and criticized them, yes they would fire me and rightfully so and I can go public if I have evidence of their wrong doing However, again Acme does not have an anti-trust exemption or at least that is what the Coyote told me 😊. NOTHING is less American than the NFL interfering with free speech.
The NFL practices with gross negligence and then the buffoonish broadcasters and their “so-called officiating expert” Gene Steratore come out and bless every call. For those of you who don’t know, Steratore is the absolute buffoon moron who screwed the Dolphins against the Steelers in Miami (2010, I think) where the Steelers fumbled the ball in the end zone, THE FINS RECOVERED THE DAMN BALL, and this complete moron said there wasn’t a clear recovery and gave the ball back to the Steelers. Turns out this guy grew up in Pittsburgh and was allowed to ref the NFL with the Steelers. How in God’s name could this happen? So, this is the buffoon who was asked about the sissy roughing the passer call against Chop Robinson? It’s a total garbage call because what’s Chop supposed to do, grab Mahomes and use his “Homelander” super powers to fly away at the last nano-second? Momentum and gravity made Chop land on Mahomes, not goal. But Mahomes was anointed by the NFL, just like Brady. If you launch an “air biscuit” against Brady or Mahomes it’s an automatic 15-yard penalty. They cannot be touched. weather So Steratore weighed in on that one but where was Steratore when Malik’s helmet came off? Nothing found. Where was Steratore when the player pulled Achane’s facemask on the play that hurt him? Nothing found. NFL officiating cannot be criticized and it is NOT infallible. In the legal world, lawyers must avoid EVEN the appearance of impropriety. Not the NFL.
In my many travels to London, I have noticed that many shops (usually the elite ones like Harrod’s) have these shields in the upper corner of the shop entrances. I asked what those were and was told there was an official process to apply for the shield. These shields inform the general public that this business is preferred by the royal family; I just read that they need to be updated for the move to King Charles. So I want to know how the Dolphins can get the NFL preferred shield? Do we have to run commercials with Malik and Devon’s shirts? Maybe Jacob Rodriguez can appear on the cover of Men’s Fitness magazine with his shirt off? I’m open to suggestions. Maybe I’ll catch up with King Charles?
