NFL Week 9 picks, predictions: Jaguars vs. Ravens on TNF

For most of the year, we’ve gotten some great matchups from “Thursday Night Football.” The Bills vs. Lions, Falcons vs. Packers, Steelers vs. Browns, Seahawks vs. Broncos, and Patriots vs. Bears are all good games—at least on paper.

Unfortunately, Week 9 it appears that Amazon’s luck has run out.

While the Baltimore Ravens vs. Jacksonville Jaguars looks like a good matchup to start the year, the league couldn’t have picked a worse week for putting this game in primetime. The Ravens have been plagued with terrible quarterback luck this year. For the second time, Lamar Jackson suffered a major injury, and his backup, Tyler Huntley, is out for the year after suffering an injury of his own last week.

So this week, the Ravens turned to undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano to make his first NFL start on a short week against the 5-2 Jacksonville Jaguars—who also have the second-best scoring defense in football, allowing just 15.9 points per game.

It looks like a stinker of a game, but if you’re interested in our thoughts on it, or want to chat some NFL action, you’ve come to the right place.
