Well, folks, Week 8 is fun. There was plenty of sloppy football, but there were also some thrilling finishes. With Week 8 over, we’ve really wrapped up the first half of the season. In the de-facto second half of the season starting in Week 9, we’ll see the playoff races really heat up.
As we’ve done every week so far, we have the latest power rankings across the league. The NFL’s hierarchy has definitely formed a bit too, and we’re starting to see a clear divide at this point.
Let’s dive into our latest league-wide power rankings, always ranking teams based on the 2026 season alone, while also emphasizing the current week.
NFL Power Rankings: Broncos rise, Cowboys edge at end of Week 8
32. Los Angeles Chargers (0-7)
Still the only winless team in the sport, the Los Angeles Chargers dropped to 0-7 with a loss against their fellow team in Los Angeles. This is how the Chargers look after the bye, which is very concerning, but I don’t think this game turned out any different than we expected.
Justin Herbert threw another two interceptions, and this 15-point loss to the Rams really just further proves how badly this team needs to make some changes. The Chargers come in at No. 32, the last, in our power ranking.
31. Miami Dolphins (1-6)
The Miami Dolphins look like a scrappy team. Miami had a 13-3 halftime lead against New England, but the Patriots scored 21 points in the second half to emerge victorious. If nothing else, the Dolphins, a team with the worst roster in the NFL, are showing plenty of fight under first-year head coach Jeff Hafley.
There has to be some form of optimism with this team because of how hard they play and how tough they are. The Dolphins continue to rank low in our power rankings, because that’s just the nature of where they are, but overall, if a 1-6 record is deceiving, it is.
Hang in there, Dolphins fans; things will get better.
