Where is Adonai Mitchell? Seriously, have you seen him? His family must be worried! We actually saw him in the first two weeks of the season, but he’s been MIA since then.
ESPN’s Rich Cimini told the “Jets Collective” podcast that he heard Mitchell’s finger was “broken.” Head coach Aaron Glenn denied that. We have a good old fashioned western standoff.
“Well, the Jets have been pretty tight-lipped on this one, but it’s obviously not your run-of-the-mill sprained finger. I mean, if it was a sprained finger or something of that nature, he’s out there taped up. We all saw the giant cast on his hand,” Cimini explained. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we found out he had surgery. I haven’t seen him in the locker room. Usually you see a guy you know wandering around the locker room. I haven’t seen AD Mitchell in weeks since that injury.”
Glenn says AD Mitchell got his finger caught in a jersey. I’m not a doctor or anything, but does it cut it? Caught in a meat slicer? Did he close it on the car door? I mean, good lord!
He hasn’t practiced in the first two practices before the Cleveland Browns game, which means he likely won’t be out for a week. However, next week the door will open. The Jets didn’t put him on injured reserve before Week 3. The thought process should be that they expect him back before week four, which is next week.
Something to keep track of. For now, the Jets will have to try to figure it out on offense without him *shrugs*.
