Marvin Harrison Jr. will be inactive. While the Cardinals Work on a Trade

Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. will be INACTIVE this Sunday. against the Lions because the team is actively negotiating a trade with him. Looks like the deal is close (likely to happen between Sunday-Tuesday this week). But the team continues to receive offers that appear and may be in negotiations with several teams. ESPN’s Adam Schefter says the Houston Texans are in the mix to pair Harrison back with his college QB CJ Stroud, but that hasn’t been announced or finalized at this point.

What They Say: Houston Is In The Mix

Ian Rapoport, NFL.com: “The Cardinals have made calls for the last few weeks centered around Marvin Harrison Jr. He will be inactive this week as his tenure with AZ is up. No trade has been finalized at this time. But he is expected to be traded.”

Adam Schefter, ESPN: “One team that has had Marvin Harrison trade talks with Arizona is Houston, sources tell me. Houston has been, and is thought to be, square in the mix for Harrison. But as a Texans source said of the team’s interest in Harrison, “I can’t confirm or deny at this point.”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Trade Won’t Save This Season

A move to a new team really can’t make things worse for Harrison. He has one game this year with no catches and two with a single reception. The Cardinals certainly didn’t look his way, and Harrison appeared uninterested in the film.

He sat as the first read on just 9.2% of his routes, per Fantasy Points. That’s lower than the league average of ALL WRs (even non-starters) at 10.6%.

It certainly won’t hurt Harrison’s fantasy value (he’s still not a starter for you) but the odds of him going to a new team and learning a new offense to be a WR3 or better this year are probably slim.

Other Winners and Losers: Michael Wilson is Fed

WR Michael Wilson is already reaping the benefits of Harrison’s limited usage, with 30 targets over the past two games. He’s in line for another big target game against the Lions’ weak secondary.

QB Jacoby Brissett wasn’t really hurt here, so don’t doubt if he plays against the Lions this week/

WR Kendrick Bourne could be an intriguing pick-up in 12-team-or-larger leagues. He’s played 67.5% of his snaps from the slot, but is currently third on the team in targets with 14. Could be viable in easy slot match-ups as a streaming option this season.

We’ll see who replaces Harrison. Jalen Brooks is the only other WR with targets so far this year, but younger WRs like Reggie Virgil and Simi Fehoko could be in line for more work.

Dynasty Effect: Sell When Buzz Spikes

Harrison’s dynasty is in decline. If the new team excites anyone in your league, moving him for a 2027 second-round pick would definitely pay off (to reroll for another WR in a strong class)

Harrison’s lack of isolation and effort is concerning and likely won’t be fixed in 2026 with a whole new scheme to learn.

If he goes to the Texans, things could get tight in 2027 with Jayden Higgins set to return from his ACL tear.
