We’re coming up on an important game for the Jets in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns. The team appears to be on the verge of bringing back one of its top two tight ends.
Mason Taylor, who missed the last two games with a thumb injury, was a full participant on both days of the Jets’ practice this week.
The status of Adonai Mitchell, who also missed the last two weeks with a finger injury, looks dicier. Mitchell has not yet participated in practice this week. Aaron Glenn called both Mitchell and running back Breece Hall “week-to-week” suggesting that the two’s return is not imminent.
Veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick, who was placed on injured reserve at the end of training camp, has been practicing again this week and has been a full participant, suggesting he could make his season debut for the Jets against Cleveland.
The Jets are getting healthier in the skill areas, but it appears they will likely dip into their depth again in Week 5.
