The Jaguars (3-1) head into London as heavy favorites over the Eagles (2-2), and it’s easy to see why. Part of it is how well Jacksonville is playing. What’s left is an Eagles team crippled by injuries, and their Hall of Fame right tackle has announced his retirement. Jacksonville’s report is also lengthy, but the Eagles’ injury woes are more of a story.
It’s a long list, but most of it looks like week-to-week maintenance. Allen and Meyers both getting full practices Thursday is a good sign for the offense. Two names are still at risk of missing Sunday: Murray, who was upgraded to limited after sitting out Wednesday but still needs to clear the concussion protocol, and Brown, who missed last week with a hamstring injury. Corner is the group watching, including the four of them in the report. As such, Brown’s status is the biggest factor for London’s secondary depth.
The Eagles are in rough shape. Barkley and Smith not practicing Thursday is a big blow to the offense, and Marquise Brown sitting out further thins the receiver room. Wicks is limited, so he’s the one pass catcher with a chance to help. Up front, Kendall didn’t practice and Johnson was limited, adding more concern to an offensive line already hit with retirements. Defensively, Baun, Campbell and Goedert are all limited, but sitting Greenard and Epps leaves real questions at linebacker and safety. One bright spot is star corner Quinyon Mitchell, who went from limited to full on Thursday.
What does this mean for Sunday?
Jacksonville should be near full strength, with Murray and Brown the only real question marks. Philadelphia may be without some of its best players, and with so much of the offense questionable, the Jaguars defense could have a big day. Expect both reports to sharpen on Friday’s final assignment.
