Jalen Ramsey is trying to play through a crazy injury

Jalen Ramsey seems to be trying to test the limits of the human body.

The Pittsburgh Steelers Cornerback Ramsey told reporters Tuesday that he suffered a broken wrist in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals.. Even wilder Ramsey said he would try to play through the injury.

“I will give everything to try [play]” Ramsey said, according to Nick Farabaugh of The Patriot-News. “I’ve got to protect it. It was a real injury, a broken wrist. I can’t really do anything.

“It’s just about making sure I can protect it and be myself in a good enough capacity where I feel like if I go out there, I’m not going to let any of my teammates down,” Ramsey added.

Eight-time Pro Bowler Ramsey, now 31 years old, is in his second season with the Steelers. Interestingly, Ramsey was able to practice in a limited capacity on Tuesday but was seen wearing a cast on his injured wrist.

With Ramsey on the defensive side of the ball, a broken wrist makes the play more likely. But it still clearly compromises Ramsey’s overall effectiveness, especially when it comes to being physical and making plays on the ball.

The Steelers are off to a 2-1 start to the season after beating the Bengals by a final score of 30-27 in Week 3. But Ramsey’s injury, regardless of whether he fights it or not, will certainly hurt because of the number of roles he’s been able to fill for the team.
