Giants MLB Tremaine Edmunds will miss the remainder of the season with a torn pectoral muscle, ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports. Edmunds hopes to overcome the injury after suffering it late in last Sunday’s loss to the Saints. The team plans to start Micah McFadden in his place and have the fifth-year man wear the green dot, which means he will relay defensive calls in the huddle.
What They Say
HC John Harbaugh: “I think I said early on we have three starters. So, when and if that happens, Micah is ready. He’s a starter, and he’ll play really well. He’ll be excited for his opportunity.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
McFadden has just six career games with snap shares of 80% or higher. He recorded 11 tackles in four of those, including another three career games of 11+ tackles.
McFadden also went after QB and took over a spot where Edmunds had already matched his career high of 2 sacks for a season.
McFadden doesn’t bring much upside in coverage but looks capable of delivering useful tackle totals with sparse sacks (and other pressure stats, if your league gets those).
He’s a good pickup in any IDP league with at least average depth before Sunday’s matchup with the Texans. McFadden presents top-24 upside the rest of the way.
