Eagles Injury Report: DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Tay Wicks missed practice again

The Philadelphia Eagles released their second injury report of the week on Friday before their Week 7 Monday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Eagles listed six players under WILL NOT DEVELOP: DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Dallas Goedert, Nolan Smith, Jonathan Greenard, and Michael Carter II.

Smith, Wicks, Goedert, Smith, and Carter II missed practice for the second straight day. Two missed practices in a row to start the week usually doesn’t bode well for a player’s chances of playing in the upcoming game. Jeff McLane of The Inquirer reports that Smith and Wicks are indeed tracking to miss Monday night … but there is “hope” that Goedert can fit in.

If Smith or Wicks don’t play, the Eagles will have these receivers: Makai Lemon, Darius Cooper, Elijah Moore, Hollywood Brown, and Britain Covey. Electricity.

Greenard was demoted from limited on Thursday to DNP on Friday. Not perfect. With Greenard and Smith on track to miss this game, the Eagles look thin on the edge rusher.

The Eagles listed eight players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Saquon Barkley, Landon Dickerson, Jalyx Hunt, Tyler Steen, Moro Ojomo, AJ Epenesa, Willie Lampkin, and Fred Johnson.

Barkley is expected to play Monday night. It’s not ideal that he hasn’t fully participated in practice yet but predictably the Eagles manage his workload to help him get into the game.

There seems to be a feeling Dickerson could play Monday … but I’m not buying it until we see him practice at least once before the game. Maybe on Saturday that will happen? Let’s see.

Hunt was limited for the second straight day. Maybe he could suit up against the Cowboys. With Philly being so light on edge rushers, the team really needs Hunt to play.

Steen, Ojomo, and Epenesa were also restricted for the second day in a row. Guessing Steen and Ojomo will play. Let’s look at Ephesus.

Lampkin was upgraded from DNP on Thursday to limited on Friday due to illness.

Johnson was added to the report as ill. He will probably be able to fix it on Monday.

The Eagles listed 11 players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Drew Kendall, Zack Baun, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Arnold Ebiketie, Jihaad Campbell, Britain Covey, Grant Calcaterra, Eli Stowers, Jakorian Bennett, and Hollywood Brown.

Kendall was upgraded from being limited on Thursday to going full on Friday. It looks like he will be able to return to the starting lineup at center. If so, who plays left guard? It will be Dickerson if they activate him from IR before 4:00 PM Eastern on Monday. If not, maybe Lampkin again. Or maybe they move Jake Majors from center to guard? Let’s see.

Baun, Carter, Davis, Ebiketie, Campbell, Covey, Calcaterra, Stowers, Bennett, and Brown were all full participants for the second day in a row. They must be healthy enough to adapt. But it remains to be seen if the Eagles will activate Calcaterra and/or Stowers and/or Bennett from injured reserve.
