After losing to the Rams in Week 4, Nick Sirianni is taking a page from Sean McVay’s book for the Eagles’ game in London.
After the brutal loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4, it makes sense that Nick Sirianni really wants to lock in and get the Philadelphia Eagles to work at the Jefferson Health Training Complex to solidify their overall identity.
The problem? The team has a game in London on Sunday, which throws a wrench into each team’s plans.
Addressing reporters Monday after the loss, Sirianni revealed the Eagles will practice all week in Philly before flying to London on Friday, noting he believes it gives Philadelphia the best chance to get better and position themselves to win the morning contest.
“We felt that leaving on Friday was best for our team, this team, and the schedule we have in the coming weeks,” Sirianni said via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. “At the end of the day, I have to make those decisions and this is the decision I made, with the help of great people.”
Now granted, the Eagles wanting to be more like the Rams after a brutal loss to McVay’s squad in Week 4 isn’t the worst idea, because there’s a lot to admire about a team that puts dead on the rights to come back to get a punchout victory – like recording a single net passing yard in the fourth quarter. But flying late to an international game, even if going from Philly to London isn’t exactly Los Angeles to Melbourne, isn’t the best lesson to learn, especially against a 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars team heavily favored to win the game.
