There is a really good draft matchup in this game with Seaton going up against Pierre. Seaton looks like a future first-round pick, so it could really help Pierre get some wins against him in the pass rush. Alabama safeties will be evaluated by an elite receiving threat at tight end Green. Both teams have a lot of NFL talent going head to head, so this will be an important tape for all players on the field.

- CB Christian Grey, No. 29
- CB DJ McKinney, No. 2
- FS Tae Johnson, No. 9
- SS Adon Shuler, No. 8
The Matchups:
A ton of NFL eyes will be on CJ Carr and Darian Mensah in this game. Mensah looks like a sure-fire first-round pick next April while Carr still has a lot to prove as this will be a hugely important tape for him. He has lost to poor competition during his career, but is 0-3 against tough opponents. So, Carr needs to play well and show that he can lead a team to important wins. Notre Dame needs to win this game to secure a playoff spot, and losing to Miami again could keep them out of the playoffs again. Mensah will be challenged by a tough Notre Dame defense with a secondary stacked with NFL talent. Mensah has been very good this season, but he hasn’t faced many good defenses, and this is the best secondary in the country. It will be interesting to see how Mensah responds to the challenge.
In that secondary, there will be a good draft matchup with Leonard Moore and DJ McKinney going up against Hurricanes sophomore receiver Malachi Toney. Toney is very quick and an explosive receiver who can score on any catch. Toney may be the most explosive player in college football, and he will challenge the deep speed of Moore and McKinney. Notre Dame hopes to get Tae Johnson back, and he’s a first-round talent that Toney will test. Mensah looks poised to be a first-round pick, and he’ll find a quality defense that’s loaded in the secondary and tough to get past.
