Dolphins news: Bye week updates and roster moves

The Miami Dolphins returned to the practice field on Tuesday, working out for a day in the team’s Week 6 bye. While nothing else is scheduled for the week, allowing players a chance to recover and rest before they begin a 10-game stretch to the end of the season, the team was busy Tuesday, both on the practice field and in the front office.

Several roster moves were made during the day, adding new players to the 53-man roster and the practice squad. The rest of the week may be quiet around South Florida, but Tuesday includes a lot.

During training, some prominent players did not participate. Miami Herald reporter C. Isaiah Smalls II pointed to two key starters who weren’t seen practicing:

Miami Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks did not participate in Tuesday’s practice.

The star linebacker, who suffered a foot injury in Sunday’s 31-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals that temporarily sidelined him before his return at the top of the third quarter, was one of several players who sat out Tuesday. Edge Robert Beal Jr., cornerback Reese Taylor, running back Jaylen Wright, wide receiver Caleb Douglas and right guard Jonah Savaiinaea also did not practice…

Another surprise at Tuesday’s practice came when quarterback Malik Willis didn’t throw.

Again, it should be noted that many guys who were limited to a regular practice did not participate due to the upcoming bye week.
