ESPN’s Tim McManus reports there is “not much optimism” that Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) will play against the Rams this weekend. Smith missed the first 2 practices this week. He was on the injury report with a hamstring last week but played every offensive snap against the Bears. We’ll be looking for more details on Smith’s timeline for a return, but he should be on the bench for Week 4.

Philadelphia will be down Smith and TE Dallas Goedert this weekend. That leaves WR Dontayvion Wicks and Makai Lemon as the offense’s top 2 targets. Both men have been close to full-time players this season but should see target increases this weekend.
Smith’s absence is a big loss for QB Jalen Hurts, though. Expect the Eagles to be strong against the Rams. Hurts can be part of that run attack, but he’s no better than a low-end QB1 this week.
