The Denver Broncos are without former Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain II suffered an ankle injury against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4. Surtain has not participated in practice since then, and missed the team’s close win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The injury report dropped Wednesday for the team’s Thursday night scrap against the Seattle Seahawks; what Super Bowl LX might have been if Bo Nix hadn’t broken his ankle in the divisional round of the playoffs against the Buffalo Bills; and Surtain was discharged again.

However, according to Mike Klis of 9News; while Surtain will not participate in Week 6, there is “hope” he will be back for the Week 7 game at the Arizona Cardinals.

Pat Surtain is expected to return next week against Arizona but Talanoa Hufanga is unlikely for another week per source. Moss questionable vs Seahawks tomorrow.

Pat Surtain Hopes to Return in Week 7 After Being Eliminated in Week 6

“There is hope for Pat Surtain to return next week against Arizona but Talanoa Hufanga is out for another week per source. Moss questionable vs Seahawks tomorrow.”

Surtain avoided both serious injuries; some believe an Achilles tear is on the table after the non-contact incident earlier this month; and a trip to the damaged reserve. Because of the latter, it always seemed likely that the All-Pro corner would spend less than a month on the sidelines.

Still, the 26-year-old’s comeback is still good news for the franchise and its fans, who are well aware of his impact on defense. Especially in light of fellow starting corner Riley Moss, who has also been struggling with a rib injury for the past few weeks – he’s questionable for Thursday night.
