One thing the Cincinnati Bengals have made a habit of in the Zac Taylor era is playing to their opponent’s talent. We see them let bad teams hang around, or generally let them get an early lead on the team and then they have to overcome.
That’s what this home game against the Tennessee Titans feels like. This is a one-win team that just lost to the Cleveland Browns last week and generally hasn’t looked super cohesive. Quarterback Cam Ward has four touchdowns and five interceptions in seven games. Running back Tony Pollard showed he’s still capable of some big runs with two long touchdowns last week.
But at the end of the day, Tennessee is a team that usually allows teams to score in the mid-20s while their offense only scores more than 20 points twice.
Cincinnati is coming off a high scoring 35 unanswered points against the Baltimore Ravens to go 4-2 on the season to keep pace with the Cleveland Browns. It has the makings of a trap game that Taylor will need to make sure this squad takes seriously, because the Titans are desperate.
