Bengals News: Lamar Jackson Injury Watch coming into Ravens week

The Cincinnati Bengals travel to the Baltimore Ravens this week for their second AFC North game of the season.

“It’s day-to-day, I would say,” Minter said Friday. “I think it’s just a decision for [Lamar Jackson]best interest. That’s really what every decision will always be about.”

The team seemed optimistic that Jackson would be ready for the Browns game on Sunday, but that obviously didn’t happen. It’s important to consider that his recovery time may take a little longer, as his best quality is his dual threat run and pass. If Jackson isn’t 100 percent as a runner, it makes things easier for the defense he faces.

Eyes will be on the injury report this week to see what kind of Baltimore team Cincinnati is going to see.

Trey Hendrickson is still working through injury revenge

Hendrickson played a great game, getting a lot of pressure on a rookie left tackle in Cleveland. He even recorded a sack in the game. It’s something to at least keep an eye on, as he faces a rematch of his rivalry with Orlando Brown Jr. — who played for the Kansas City Chiefs before — to face each other in an actual game instead of just in practice.

The Ravens receive a slight home-field advantage spread of just 3 to 3.5 points and the point total at a whopping 50.5. Jackson’s health may have something to do with how things might turn out, but oddsmakers are expecting at least a shootout.

Each of the other AFC North teams sits at 4-2 while the Bengals are 3-2. For as hard as the two losses felt at the time, the division was still very wide, waiting for a team to catch fire.

Given the way it played out —and John Harbaugh’s subsequent rant about him accidentally punishing Skattebo — you really have to wonder where this is going. The NFC East remains a dumpster fire, but another loss really could see things get worse before they get better. Skattebo may not be on the team following the deadline to step down.

It makes sense because the Jaguars dropped a ton of money into a settlement to want to get all the money possible rather than sending one down the lake. However, it could be really interesting to see how their fan base that they have built up there will react to not having their annual game to see Jacksonville.

We all love a good stretch of seeing Winston as a starter. However, it seemed pretty obvious that McCarthy got the start after coming on and lighting up the last 10 minutes. You can make the case for garbage time, but this team needs a serious spark.
