Seahawks fan chat: Cowboys host winless Buccaneers on ‘Thursday Night Football’

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a bad, banged football team. They were 6-2 at the midway point last season, beating the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle that season. In their last 13 games, they are a rancid 2-11, including 0-4 to start the 2026 season. They are done. It’s over. cooked. It’s over for them.

Field Gulls deputy editor John P. Gilbert will no doubt give his undivided attention to former Kansas star Jalon Daniels, the undrafted rookie reassigned to start in place of the injured Baker Mayfield for the Bucs. The Dallas Cowboys don’t have a very good defense, but their offense is elite, Dak Prescott is playing some of his best football to date, and Ceedee Lamb has simply embarrassed the Houston Texans to the point where DeMeco Ryans has resumed playing duties on defense.

Anyway, the Bucs and Cowboys aren’t competitive on paper. Dallas may be 2-2 now but it could easily be one of the toughest remaining matchups for the Seahawks heading into the back-end of the season, and it will be interesting to see if Brian Schottenheimer’s men can take care of an overmatched opponent.

Well, I say that’s interesting. This is not an interesting paper game. But I have to build intrigue.
