The 2027 NFL Draft is still a long way off, but that won’t stop us from taking a closer look at the upcoming class and which teams might pick at the top. Unfortunately, despite a lot of hype heading into the college football season, this year’s class at the quarterback position may not be as good as some thought.
And with how out of hand the NIL situation has gotten, the talent pool coming into the NFL seems to be getting weaker and weaker. For teams competing to win the Super Bowl, it’s not something they should worry about right now.
But for teams that need key personnel help, particularly at the QB position, things are not looking up. Let’s dive into the order of the first 10 picks now that Week 8 is over.
The 2027 NFL Draft order above has been updated following Week 8 action
1. Los Angeles Chargers (0-7)
The only winless team in the sport, the Los Angeles Chargers currently hold the first overall pick and are sure to take Jeremiah Smith out of Ohio State, right? Nothing has worked for the Chargers this year, and, unfortunately, QB Justin Herbert looks like a shell of his former self, so you almost wonder if Los Angeles would consider a bigger move than Smith.
2. Tennessee Titans (1-7)
The Tennessee Titans played well in Week 8, but there really isn’t such a thing as a moral victory in the NFL. The Titans are still a bad, maybe atrocious team and already traded Jeffery Simmons for a pair of first-round picks. While some may argue that QB Cam Ward should get the 2027 season, he really hasn’t taken a step forward from his rookie year, and if the right QB is available, will the Titans?
