2026 NFL Season, Week 8: Everything you need to know for this week’s games

Seven weeks into the 107th league campaign, an unbeaten team remains and a club looking for its first victory in 2026.

Kevin O’Connell’s 6-0 Minnesota Vikings are doing it defensively, but face a tall order on Sunday as they travel to the Motor City to face the explosive Detroit Lions.

Jim Harbaugh’s 0-6 Los Angeles Chargers aren’t doing much. They have a “road” game against another disappointing club in the Los Angeles Rams.

For the third week in a row, the NFL schedule features 14 games.

Everything you need to know for Week 8 of the 2026 NFL Season

Off: Houston, New Orleans, NY Giants, San Francisco

Thursday, October 29

Carolina (3-3) at Green Bay (4-3): For the second time this season, the Panthers are coming off a close home loss and are now on the road. Even with Josh Jacobs back last week, the Packers failed to rush for at least 100 yards again in the loss to the Lions. Green Bay leads the NFL with 13 takeaways.

Sunday, Nov

Tennessee (1-6) at Cincinnati (4-2): Robert Saleh’s team is making some progress and gave the AFC North-leading Browns all they could handle last Sunday. However, they will have their hands full with a Bengals’ club that has scored a combined 66 points in consecutive road wins over the Dolphins and Ravens.

Indianapolis (2-5) at Jacksonville (4-2): The Colts, who traded guard Quenton Nelson (Seahawks) and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (49ers), have dropped three in a row. Liam Coen’s club has won four of its first six games, while the Colts (2-5), Texans (2-5), and Titans (1-6) are a combined 5-16.

Cleveland (5-2) at Pittsburgh (5-2): In Week 4 on a Thursday night in Cleveland, Todd Monken’s club came out with a 27-24 victory over Mike McCarthy’s team. Now the Browns are looking for their first sweep of the Black and Gold since 1988. The opportunistic Steelers have forced 11 turnovers in seven games.

Baltimore (4-3) at Buffalo (5-1): Jesse Minter’s team took a 13-0 lead into the locker room Sunday against the visiting Bengals. The Ravens then proceeded to give up five straight touchdown drives in a 35-13 setback. Joe Brady’s team, which departed last week, has scored 33 or more points in four of its six contests.

Atlanta (3-4) and Tampa Bay (2-5): While every team in the NFC South owns a 2-1 road record, each of the four clubs in the division owns a losing record at home. That includes the Buccaneers, who are winless (0-4) in their own building this season. The Falcons are 5-2 in the last seven contests in this divisional series.

Minnesota (6-0) at Detroit (4-2): Only the Buffalo Bills average more points per game than Dan Campbell’s club. On the other hand, no team in the league has allowed fewer points per contest than the undefeated Vikings. Minnesota’s offense scored nine touchdowns, as did Detroit’s Jahmyr Gibbs.
