Vikings-Lions Second Injury Report | Everyday Norseman

The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions released their second injury reports ahead of their Sunday afternoon matchup at Ford Field. Here they are.

Injury Report Terms and Glossary

Definitions of damage assignment:

Probable = the league defines a Probable injury designation as a 75% or greater chance of playing. Historically, 95% of players designated as probable are active and playing on game day.

Doubtful = the league defines a Doubtful injury designation as ‘uncertain’ whether or not the player will play. This replaces the previous definition of having a 50% chance to play. Historically, 70-75% of players with a Questionable injury designation are active and played on game day.

Doubtful = The league designates a Doubtful injury designation as meaning the player is unlikely to participate in the game. In practical terms, teams use the designation when a player has less than a 50% chance to suit up, and active game appearances from this designation remain rare. Historically, only about 6% of players with a Doubtful designation are active and playing on game day.

Out = won’t play. Players with this designation are inactive on game day and are prohibited by league rules from playing.

For the Lions, Kerby Joseph opened his 3-week window to return from the PUP list this week, but is unlikely to play Sunday. Otherwise, it’s almost all upgrades for the Lions on Thursday, with cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. getting a limited start. However, the Lions are shaky at cornerback and if Rakestraw can’t go it will be a notable loss.

For the Vikings, upgrades across the board compared to Wednesday, with only limited Aaron Jones. A new addition, however, as Gavin Bartholomew did not train with an ankle injury. It’s unclear if that’s something that’s holding him back on Sunday or not.

We’ll see how this plays out in the final damage update and damage assignments tomorrow.
