The Los Angeles Rams have confirmed the Unfortunate News to Myles Garrett

The Rams have confirmed an unfortunate recent update on Myles Garrett.

The Los Angeles Rams have made their official decision on Myles Garrett.

More specifically, the Rams “will not” start the clock on Garrett’s 21-day practice window, which will precede his return to game action, per head coach Sean McVay at his day-after press conference on Oct. 13. “Not this week.”

Garrett has been out since Week 1, undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee and was placed on injured reserve after experiencing soreness from training camp.

This unfortunate update is disappointing, especially following the one from earlier in the day.

“My understanding is six weeks of recovery from knee surgery. He had knee surgery the Monday after Week 1,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on “The Rich Eisen Show” on October 13. “So, it should be in Week 7 when he’s ready, which could mean practicing this week and then playing next week. Or, it could mean at least practicing this week–we’re going to the window.”

However, it’s also no surprise to learn that Garrett won’t be returning to practice just yet. Doesn’t follow the comments McVay made about Garrett’s status for Week 7.

“He’s making great progress,” McVay told reporters on Oct. 10 in what was his final media availability before the Rams’ “Monday Night Football” showdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5.

“What I would say is that we’re not ready to say whether we’re going to open that window or not. In talking to Neil [ElAtrache]the operation went well. He is making good progress. What that timeline looks like is pretty much week-to-week how he’s feeling. But I’d say it’s more likely that we won’t start his clock next week.

Rapoport’s expected timeline is at least a week.

Myles Garrett Will Lift Rams Defense In Return

Still, Garrett’s eventual return to the Rams’ lineup should do wonders for a defense that ranks third in yards but 20th in scoring through five weeks.

“The Rams are supposed to be the super team, and it’s all dramatic,” Rapoport said. “I didn’t see anything–just my eyes–I didn’t see anything that made me say, ‘This is a team that can win the Super Bowl.’

“Yeah, they ran into a very good Bills team that beat them yesterday because of a combination of events in an incredibly dramatic game. Well, the Bills were very good, too. So, can we see these teams again in a very, very big game in a similar stadium? I think we can. I think the Rams are still really good, and having Myles Garrett there will only help.”

Will we see these two face off in the season finale? 👀

Garrett failed to record a stat in his lone appearance for the Rams.

He still hasn’t played with Aaron Donald, who missed Week 1 while he was climbing but came out of retirement following the Rams’ trade for Garrett.

The Rams also lost left tackle Alaric Jackson for two games. That was due to a suspension after he punched Bills EDGE Bradley Chubb on the field following the game. The Rams recently got Donald and Puka Nacua on the field.

Getting their entire intended starting lineup in the same game continued to elude them, though.
