Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars – 9:30 a.m. ET (London)

I really believe the Texans are a great team, and I think last week was a big step in the right direction. Houston also went out and got Marvin Harrison Jr., adding some real size and talent at wideout. Once the defense is solid, we should be talking about a borderline playoff team again, and that sounds more like a “once” than an “if.” With that being said, Jacksonville is currently a Tier 2 team in Net EPA/Play in RBSDM, and Houston is almost a Tier 4 team. There is a big difference between where these teams currently rank statistically, with the Jaguars being better on both sides of the ball.

Jacksonville also happens to be playing its second consecutive game in London. The Jaguars have had the luxury of being comfortable in their second home, and this trip has to feel like a breeze to them at this point. That’s a big advantage for Jacksonville heading into this game, even as overseas travel continues to get easier and easier for players.

The Jaguars are also very optimistic under Liam Coen as favourites. In such games, they are 11-1 straight-up and win contests by 14.1 points per game. Meanwhile, the Texans are 1-6 SU and 3-4 against the spread against teams with a winning percentage of 75% or higher with DeMeco Ryans on the sidelines. And when facing teams with a winning percentage of 25% or worse, Coen is 3-0 both SU and ATS with the Jaguars.

Bet: Jaguars -2.5 (+100)

Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons – 1:00 pm ET

I thought the Falcons would handle their business against the Lamar Jackson-less Ravens last week, and they ended up with a disappointing loss. However, I’m still pretty high on this Atlanta team. The Falcons are seventh in the NFL in EPA/Play Allowed (-0.035), establishing themselves as one of the best defensive teams in football. That said, Caleb Williams or no Caleb Williams, Atlanta should have a decent chance to get some key stops in this game. But can Chicago do the same?

The Bears dropped to 20th in the NFL in EPA/Play Allowed (0.000) after being torched by the Packers last week. And that performance was exactly what I was expecting from a Chicago defense that we saw struggle against Carolina in Week 1.

I’m a big fan of Ben Johnson and his offense, but I think the Bears have one of the worst defenses in football. That means the Falcons will be in this one, and just hanging around makes it a worthwhile dart throw at +140.

Bet: Falcons ML (+140)

New Orleans Saints at New York Giants – 1:00 pm ET

I’ll be back here for the third week in a row. Of course, the numbers are more favorable in Weeks 4 and 5, but I’m still happy with the plus-money odds. Winston threw 29 times for 250 yards and three touchdowns two weeks ago. Then, in an overtime game against the Commanders last week, Winston threw 54 times and finished with 326 yards and another three scores. After two weeks of having Winston play conservative football, the 30-30 pre-LASIK version of the quarterback was released.

Winston now gets a crack at a defense ranked 26th in Dropback EPA/Play Allowed (0.169). It was right below Washington’s defense that we saw Winston shine. I think we’ll see another multi-touchdown game.

Bet: Winston Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+116)
