The Philadelphia Eagles may have offered some additional reason to worry about the health of quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The Eagles are placing Hurts on injured reserve, according to multiple reports. The move means the quarterback will be out for at least the next four games.

This news comes just hours after reports indicated the Eagles did not intend to place Hurts on injured reserve. It is not clear what has changed. The Eagles may have received some information about the doctors, or they may just be acting out of an abundance of caution.
Hurts was already out with a blood clot discovered before the Eagles’ loss in London to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The quarterback is essentially out indefinitely, as he can’t play until the clot situation is resolved. There’s no clear idea how long that will take, and the team just needs to see how well he responds to treatment.
Hurts has thrown for 933 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions in five games so far this season.
