On Wednesday, the Miami Dolphins claimed offensive guard Christian Haynes off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks despite the Baltimore Ravens announcing earlier in the day that they were the team to acquire the former third round pick. With Miami higher on the waiver priority list, Haynes is headed to sunny South Florida.
Haynes, drafted in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, started five games for Seattle this season, but was deemed expendable after the Seahawks traded star offensive guard Quenton Nelson — formerly of the Indianapolis Colts — earlier this week. During his three-year career in Seattle, Haynes played in a total of 31 games.
To make room for Haynes, the Dolphins waived rookie guard DJ Campbell — the 200th pick (6th round) of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Texas. Campbell hasn’t played in a game for Miami this season because he’s been a healthy scratch for the club every week.
With starting left guard Kadyn Proctor currently in the concussion protocol, the Dolphins added Haynes to an offensive guard group that also includes starting right guard Jonah Savaiinaea and reserve linemen Caedan Wallace and Jarrett Kingston.
We’ll continue to update you on all things Miami Dolphins as the team prepares to take on the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium this Sunday.
