The Colts’ asking price in Jonathan Taylor trade talks has been revealed

The Indianapolis Colts is keeping a very high price for returning Jonathan Tayloraccording to a report.

The Colts are asking teams for a first-round pick from other teams in exchange for Taylor, according to NFL reporter Tony Pauline. Right now, teams don’t want to go that way.

Pauline said Taylor’s value is seen as comparable to what the Carolina Panthers are acquired when Christian McCaffrey was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2022. In that deal, the Panthers got four picks, including a second- and third-round selection.

That wouldn’t be a bad return for the Colts. Taylor is 27, and he likely won’t be a key part of anything the Colts look like on the other side of the rebuild they’ve clearly begun. At this point, they can use as much draft capital as they can get.

A former 1,500-yard rusher, Taylor is thought to be an ownership favorite, which could make any trade more likely.
