NFL rumors: WR trade leaders needed. Don’t forget about the Steelers, 49ers

The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t the only team looking for wide receiver help at the NFL trade deadline.

The Kansas City Chiefs recently saw their offense completely shut down in a road loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The loss exposed the Chiefs’ dire need for help in the wide receiver department, as the team doesn’t exactly have a ton of options for Patrick Mahomes to get the ball to, and many expect Kansas City to make a trade for a new receiver at some point in the coming weeks.

However, the Chiefs aren’t the only team that could be waiting for wide receiver help this season.

Recently, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler broke down some big names that could be on the market, including Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

“…teams are circling with interest. Kansas City and Pittsburgh are among those exploring help at receiver,” he wrote of Thomas.

He also reported to Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jauan Jennings.

“Jennings, who is on a one-year deal, could prove a low-cost option for teams looking to add to their receiving room. The 49ers are an obvious fit,” he wrote.

Jennings previously played for the 49ers and doesn’t seem to have any trouble getting back into their system under head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Some fans have floated the idea of a Chiefs reunion with former standout wide receiver Tyreek Hill, although it remains to be seen how much the veteran has left in the tank as he works his way back from a brutal leg injury suffered last year, when he was a member of the Miami Dolphins.

In any case, the Chiefs next hit the field on Sunday for a tough road game against the division rival Denver Broncos.
