It’s that time, once again, when we head over to FanDuel Sportsbook, check out the player prop bets for this week’s Minnesota Vikings game, and see if there’s anything we can do to help those looking to add to your excitement. . .or anxiety. . .on a Sunday afternoon by putting a little known cheddar in your football action.
Of course, if you’ve been following my picks for the first three weeks of the season, the Costanza theory might be the best way. I mean you might want to look at what I choose and then do the complete opposite. You actually went 0-for-3 last week thanks to another truly rotten offensive performance by the Minnesota Vikings, but if you took the Justin Jefferson bet you were probably covered by whatever injury protections your sportsbook offered when he exited the first quarter.
Again, I will try to do better this week. After all, it would be difficult to do worse. Here we are.
Kyler Murray Passing Yardage: Over 207.5 passing yards (-114)
I don’t care if Justin Jefferson is out on Sunday. If dude can’t make it this week, I’m going to have some important questions. . .and, frankly, so does everyone else.
Juan Jennings Receiving Yardage: Over 26.5 receiving yards (-114)
So far, through his first two games as a Minnesota Viking, Jennings has one more reception and one more yard than me. This does not seem to be an ideal use of resources. With Jefferson sidelined, Jordan Addison will move into the #1 receiver role, which should leave Jennings there against lesser competition. At some point, he’s going to have to start doing something, you’d think, and this week seems like as good a week as any.
The Vikings will have 7+ kicking points (-200)
Will Reichard is the best kicker in the National Football League, bar none. We know that. Obviously, the Vikings must Score touchdowns on Sunday, because the Dolphins’ red zone defense is terrible, but since Minnesota’s offense is nothing to write home about so far this season, I think we’ll see #16 run down the field a few times Sunday afternoon, and when he does, he’ll do what Will Reichard always does.
Those are my picks for the best player prop bets for the Vikings this week when they face the Dolphins at US Bank Stadium. Are there any you notice?
