It’s exciting to think that we are approaching Week 6 of the 2026 NFL Season. The trade deadline is even in view. For the first five weeks, things were hectic, to say the least. The NFL truly feels wide open this year, as both conferences don’t really have a slam dunk contender right now.
This could make for a very entertaining December, and the playoffs could be even crazier. While the only winless teams in the NFL are all in the AFC, that doesn’t mean the conference doesn’t have some formidable teams.
As we do every week, let’s dive into our latest conference power rankings, starting with the AFC. We rank based on how well the teams did in the first five weeks – keeping it simple.
The updated AFC rankings confirm that the conference will be wide open in 2026
16. Miami Dolphins (0-5)
I’m not sure it’s wild to suggest that the Miami Dolphins could be historically bad this year. The Dolphins are clearly in a major rebuilding process, and in the first year at that, but that doesn’t mean the team is any less formidable.
Sure, they can screw up and maybe win a few games this year, but top to bottom, this roster is nowhere near that. The early returns from the rookie class seem encouraging, though.
15. Tennessee Titans (0-5)
The Tennessee Titans aren’t as bad as Miami, but they’re certainly more disappointing, because this roster is more, and the coaching staff is full of veterans. That doesn’t matter, though, because the Titans can’t seem to do anything right, and even though this is Robert Saleh’s first year on the job, I don’t see how he survives past 2026 if this team can’t start showing signs of life going forward.
