Every NFL game is important, but Week 6 feels that way indeed important to many teams in the league today. The early part of the season was defined less by who did well, and more by the teams we had locked in to be contenders — or at the very least established teams in the playoffs, many of whom really struggled.
It’s gotten to the point where we could be headed for unexpected firings for several head coaches around the NFL. These games are where so much is on the line, and where we’ll focus this week’s picks. For starters, we have the Texans and Jaguars on Sunday. It’s too early to say that DeMeco Ryans really has a problem, but the water will start to heat up if the Texans continue to mourn with the Titans in the basement of the AFC South. This team is left behind, and cannot be defeated.
Then there’s Panthers vs. Eagles, and hoo buddy are the bad vibes in Philadelphia right now. Nick Sirianni’s team has struggled in every single game, and now they face a Carolina team that is coming off their bye, getting a lot of key players. The panel is split on this game, but it’s a critical one to keep the Eagles’ season alive.
One where there is no doubt is the Chiefs and Chargers. Jim Harbaugh’s team is a disaster, and barring a big surprise they will continue to lose. Everything is wrong with that team, and whether it’s Mike McDonald or Harbaugh himself, someone is going to get fired on Monday.
