The New York Jets are 2-6. Several people wrote in permanent marker that the Jets would surely be 2-8 if we fast-forward two weeks.
Next up is a road game against the Kansas City Chiefs and a home tilt against the Buffalo Bills.
Don’t tell that noise to Jets starting quarterback Geno Smith.
“For me, again, it doesn’t matter what others think. It’s about what we think and what we believe. We believe we can do it, so again, we know it’s in a difficult environment; they’re a great team historically, and they’ve done it at a high level for a long time, so we know we’ve got our work cut out for us, but I believe in the people, and I think we’re in the right locker room. putting together a plan to get out there and do it.”
That’s the right mentality to have. If the Jets are going to upset the Chiefs, who are 10-point favorites at home, they need to believe in themselves. Green and white have the pieces in place to pull off the upset. They have the offensive pieces to score points, but with how the Jets’ defense has performed, they may need to win this track at 55-50.
