Last week, the New York Jets took a hit when they lost at home to a previously winless Miami Dolphins team. The Dolphins had never led at any point in any game this season prior to last week’s Jets game. Against the Jets the Dolphins never trailed at any point in the game. It was a poor performance that all but sealed the Jets’ fate for the 2026 season. It looks like the Jets will miss the playoffs for the 16th consecutive season. Once again at the beginning of November the only thing the Jets have to look forward to is next year’s draft. It’s getting old.
The loss to the Dolphins gave the Jets a 2-5 record on the season. Now the Jets are back home at MetLife Stadium as they try to get back on the winning track against a Las Vegas Raiders team that has lost four straight games after starting the season 3-0. Kickoff is scheduled for shortly after 1 PM EDT.
If Aaron Glenn has any hope of keeping his job next season, these are the types of games he needs to start winning. The Raiders have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. The Jets need to take advantage and run the score. The Jets haven’t scored more than 25 points all season. With a healthy offensive line for the first time since game 3 and the best set of offensive weapons the Jets have had in over 10 years, now is the time to change that.
The Raiders have gotten the best of the Jets lately, winning four of the last five games the teams have played. Can the Jets take care of business at home now and start turning their season around? We will find out soon enough.
It’s the Jets and the Raiders in game 8 of the 2026 season. Enjoy the game everyone.
