The Seahawks, thin at running back, brought Joe Mixon into town for a workout on Monday. It’s like working out, until it’s not.
The team ultimately did not proceed with signing him to the practice squad, allegedly based on his physicality.
Coach Mike Macdonald was asked about the decision not to sign Mixon during Macdonald’s press conference Wednesday.
“It didn’t work,” Macdonald said. “Probably the most we have to say about it is the process. Those things happen and it’s part of the process.”
Mixon’s health continues to be shrouded in mystery. He is on the Texans’ non-football injury list for all of the 2025 season. There is no clear answer to what the problem is.
So Mixon continues to be a free agent, available to sign with any team. And there are teams (like the Eagles) that need help at the position.
