Since our Miami Dolphins had the weekend off, I asked the following question this past week:
What changes or adjustments do you think our Miami Dolphins should make, or should make, during their bye week? These changes can be anything from acquiring or trading for a player, letting a player go, bringing up a new starter or starters from backup positions, coaching changes, playbook adjustments, new roles for old players, etc.
Below are some of your thoughts and answers-
Bill Moody said Just keep on keepin’ on and get through this ugly season as healthy as possible.
Stay the course. Just get on with the season and try not to hurt anyone. Maybe try to get a game against the Jets or Chargers… if not, just make it through the season healthy and don’t try to do too much.
phinette Would like to see a better pass rush, even if we just need this scheme.
Finfan4life88 is ready to move on from the starting QB.
This Malik bench is very simple. Give McCord a shot. Couldn’t be worse than Willis. I’m sure McCord has better processing, mechanics, pocket presence and accuracy. I’m also pretty sure McCord is hitting his open receivers instead of staring down his first read or throwing off his back foot and cruising throws for ints in bunches.
Fishfan67 sound to Malik.
Malik should be working with his receivers on their timing. Not throwing the ball on Tuesday was asinine. Doesn’t seem to care about improving teammates by the looks of it. Just saying
Luvs2drnk Would just like to see Willis spend time with his wideouts to develop better chemistry.
I don’t think there are any specific adjustments that need to be made. I think Willis needs to spend some extra time the next week and a half with his receivers and try to build some chemistry and timing. So everyone is on the same page and understands what is expected of them.
Phoenix6 would like to see more blishing from the defense and more creativity from the offense.
More bliss! About 33% of the time. This will help with sack potential. Growing the D-line from the Corner, the Safety and of course from the Linebacker position. It will also reduce the amount of time the D-Backs have to attach to the WRs.
Feed the enemy a heavy load of Gordon II. Especially at the ends and the Sweeps. Place the Bell in the slot position. Use Washington on end-arounds, Reverses and on short routes… let him be erratic… needs to be messy. It’s like trying to catch a pig in grease. Get Willis to run, and run some more. Design QB run plays. Bring back the Wildcat offense with Kaytron Allen, Ollie and Willis in the backfield.
Put the sting in them…
Gllmiaspr there are some offensive adjustments to be made.
Three simple adjustments that I hope will make a big difference.
Dolphanjoe is another rider staying the course and the front office wants to keep rotating the bottom of the roster in search of hidden gems.
Stay the Course! Continue to look for players, if the ones we have haven’t auditioned throughout the year for promising players. The only advantage we really have is to lose and get the first or second pick in the draft. And of course finding hidden gems under rocks. With all year long raids on other teams, the practice squads should yield us some bright spots. All is not lost!
Dolphster Coaches and the front office just want to continue to assess the players currently on the roster.
Just keep checking players who you think are potential blocks for the future. If someone is starting that you know isn’t part of your long-term plans, sit them down (or trade them if they have any value) and put in someone you need to assess for the future.
There’s no consensus, but some of us want the front office to keep doing what it’s been doing, while others hope to see more creativity on offense and for Willis to continue to work on his connection with his receivers. I’m with keep-on-keeping-on at this point. The players we have seem to be improving week by week, but it will take time at least one more offseason to get this roster where it needs to be. As always, thanks to each and every one of you who took the time to join our Phinsider Question Of The Day post. Please join us tomorrow for our live NFL games thread in place of the usual Dolphins live thread.
