Josh Jacobs appeared to make a ‘shameless’ TD celebration that angered fans

Josh Jacobs didn’t win any fans over with his end zone celebration of choice in Thursday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

The Packers running back scored his first rushing touchdown of the season in the second quarter of the Week 8 contest at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. The 1-yard score gave the home team a 13-7 lead.

Jacobs celebrated the moment by putting his hands behind his back and walking like he was in prison. Fans felt the gesture as if Jacobs was pretending to be handcuffed.

Jacobs missed the first six games of the 2026 season because of domestic violence charges stemming from a May 23 incident with his ex-girlfriend. The 28-year-old was arrested three days later.

Unsurprisingly, many fans felt that the celebration was not good.

Jacobs ultimately settled the legal issues last month. He was then placed on the Commissioner Exempt List, which led to his six-week absence. He made his season debut Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Jacobs scored two of the Packers’ four touchdowns in Thursday’s 27-19 win over the Panthers. He rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries and caught another TD in the second quarter.
