The Jets may have lost in Week 3 to the Detroit Lions, but fans took real positives from the game.
That statement is true if you believe our latest SB Nation Reacts poll. Fan confidence in the team dropped to 48 percent a week after the Jets’ tough Week 2 overtime loss to the Packers. Week 3 also saw an offensive loss. Fans left feeling better. It was likely a combination of a 14 point fourth quarter comeback that saw the Jets tie the game and the loss coming to a higher quality opponent.
It’s probably the biggest one-week increase a team has had after a loss in the history of these surveys, but I don’t find it unreasonable. In Week 2 the Jets lost a game they should have won. In Week 3, they hit the road against a great opponent.
What will happen in Week 4, and how will it affect next week’s survey? Stay focused.
