Ja’Marr Chase’s fines for elbowing crowds have been overturned by the NFL

Good news for fun fans. Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has had his penalties from Week 2 overturned by the NFL.

Chase had two penalties from that game, while Tee Higgins had four. Still no word on Higgins’ fines being changed in any way.

The duo said the celebration was a combination of ‘the people’s elbow’ — a move Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson did as a professional wrestler as well as the first down signal.

I think it’s clear what most people, and the league, saw when it was held.

The NFL has come down heavily on multiple fines for each player, but there’s always been a very good case for these two against how much they were fined, or even fined at all.

Higgins did the celebration several times in Week 1, but was not given a fine or warning. Chase failed to pull off the celebration, but as far as they were concerned, it was clearly okay if the league did nothing.

It really boils down to Chase making one of the most ridiculous catches you’ll ever see and then pulling out the celebration. That got everyone and the league’s attention, and needless to say it meant something different than what Higgins and Chase were saying.

For now, it seems that the celebration is no more, but there is a sense of justice for Chase at the moment. The residency league might also flop out for Higgins.
