The Colts made two roster moves Tuesday, signing veteran tight end Pharaoh Brown to the 53-man roster and returning linebacker Germaine Pratt to the practice squad.
Brown spent the entire 2026 season on Indianapolis’ practice squad after rejoining the organization during training camp. The 32-year-old gives the Colts another experienced option at tight end alongside Tyler Warren, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree.
Brown appeared in 94 NFL games with 56 starts during stops with the Raiders, Browns, Texans, Patriots, Seahawks, Cardinals and Colts. He has 74 career receptions for 752 yards and three touchdowns. Brown also previously spent part of the 2023 offseason in Indianapolis before being released at the end of training camp.
The more interesting move is Pratt’s return.
Pratt spent most of last season with the Colts after starting the year in Las Vegas. He started 12 games for Indianapolis in 2025 and finished with 101 tackles, five tackles for loss, eight passes defensed, one interception, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
The 30-year-old also has extensive familiarity with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. Pratt played his first six NFL seasons in Cincinnati from 2019-24, the same six seasons Anarumo served as the Bengals’ defensive coordinator.
In a total of 112 career games, Pratt made 104 starts and recorded 734 tackles, eight interceptions, eight forced fumbles and 33 passes defensed.
So far, Pratt has joined the practice squad instead of the active roster, but the addition gives Indianapolis another experienced linebacker at a position that has been inconsistent and difficult through the first five weeks.
Akeem Davis-Gaither held the green dot and the majority of MIKE linebackers snapped, while Jaylon Carlies, Bryce Boettcher, Austin Ajiake and rookie CJ Allen filled out the rotation.
Considering Pratt’s experience with Anarumo’s defense and his production for Indianapolis last season, he could give the Colts another option if the current linebacker group continues to struggle.
